The Fleur de Lys is a traditional country pub at the heart of the village of Widdington, with a history stretching back to at least 1729. Full of character, it boasts exposed beams, a large open fireplace that's perfect on colder days and an attractive garden for the warmer months.
It's a proper community pub with a warm welcome for everyone, from families and walkers to locals catching up over a pint. The bar serves well-kept real ales, with regular beers alongside changing guests often from local breweries, plus real ciders. There are traditional pub games too, including pool and darts.
The pub also has a strong place in local history. It was the first pub saved from closure by the local branch of CAMRA after the branch was formed, and it has a long record of appearing in CAMRA's Good Beer Guide.
The Fleur de Lys is a lovely spot for a relaxed drink, a meal with friends or a Sunday lunch after a walk in the surrounding countryside. Dogs are welcome.
